In the 1990’s, NFC Specialist Products developed Bactiguard air filtration media, proven in independent testing to eradicate on contact a wide range of micro-organisms, including E coli and salmonella. The media is now used in applications as diverse as filters for HVAC applications in buildings to domestic cookerhood filters and vacuum cleaners.
The turn of the century saw a new challenge – the need for a high efficiency media with a lower pressure loss than the conventional pleatable medias then on the market. Thus, HESPA media – a high efficiency synthetic with a low-pressure loss – was developed to NFC Specialist Product’s specification. The HESPA media range has efficiencies from 99.95 per cent to 99.999 per cent, and has been shown to be more robust than the conventional glass medias used in most filters.
Conventional circular, square and rectangle filter shapes have dominated primarily because of their ease of production. But occasions arise where an unconventional shape may be required, or the filter needs to combine flexible qualities to fit the space allocated within the device. The development and refinement of Pleat Encapsulation Technology has provided the solution.
